Sheffield Wednesday released defender Sam Reed, and three National League clubs are eyeing a deal, as per The Star.
Sheffield Wednesday are a club in an uncertain position heading into the summer transfer window. SWFC needs to clarify their managerial situation, while fresh payment issues have emerged.
It has piled further heat onto owner and chairman Dejphon Chansiri, whose lead at Hillsborough has been a subject of discontent for years now.

While uncertainty persists in the Steel City, there are released players turning their focus to the future now. Among them is 22-year-old Sam Reed, who looks to have a handful of options away from the Championship club.
According to The Star, the released Sheffield Wednesday left-back is a target for National League trio Hartlepool United, Halifax Town, and Altrincham. It is the latter who are said to be ‘very keen’ on landing Reed as he prepares to officially enter free agency at the end of this month.
Reed impressed away from SWFC in the National League North while on loan at Scarborough Athletic, and it looks as though he could make a step up to the fifth tier after his success a level below.
There will be no transfer fee involved as a free agent.
The right time to move on?
Reed first caught the eye of Sheffield Wednesday while with non-league side Brighouse Town, and he now departs two years on from joining.
Aged 22, the time has come for him to be playing regular senior football. Reed did just that over the last season, playing for both Boston United and the earlier-mentioned Scarborough Athletic.

A first-team role with SWFC felt unlikely, so it will be for the best that he heads for pastures new now. A National League move seems most likely, but with more impressive performances, it might be that an EFL return opportunity opens up in the next couple of seasons.
The wider focus at Sheffield Wednesday
Unfortunately, the wider picture at Sheffield Wednesday is a bleaker one once again.
The Owls have made welcome progress on the pitch over the past 18 months or so, moving on from the depths of a relegation battle to a mid-table Championship finish.
However, Danny Rohl looks likely to move on, with his relationship with the fans becoming more and more fractured in the off-season. That has perhaps been expected, but the latest delayed wage payment has sparked real concern at Hillsborough.
With the threats of registration embargoes lurking again, Wednesday will desperately hope for better news in the coming days and weeks.
