On paper, West Ham have one of the strongest squads they’ve ever had in the Premier League era. While it’s full of brilliant players, there are some who are more important than others.
Edson Alvarez didn’t take long to settle into life in claret and blue. His passion and aggressiveness made him a fan favourite from the start. He’s gone on to develop himself into a top quality Premier League midfielder, with his only real drawback being the amount of cards he picks up.
Unfortunately, playing at the level he has been for over a season doesn’t go unnoticed, and there’s been interest from some of Europe’s elite already, While Manchester United were said to once be interested, reports have claimed it is AC Milan who are leading the race.
The Mexican seemed to acknowledge these rumours during an interview on international duty, and he didn’t rule out the move. “Let’s see, if you are in this environment, rumours will exist, both for you and for us. And well, I think that, as they said, it means that you are doing things well, that they are turning their attention to you,” he stated.
“I just use it to my advantage. In the sense of continuing to do what I am doing, trying to improve and well, increase my confidence.”
