Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri was spotted at the 2-0 defeat against Burnley.

The Owls lost out 2-0 to high-flying Burnley as a Yan Valery mistake led to Sheffield Wednesday being defeated at Hillsborough Stadium.

Danny Rohl’s side weren’t too off the pace, especially in the midfield and defence, however the prominent issues in the frontline are still yet to go away.

Ike Ugbo came away from the game with yet another goalless appearance, and he arguably should have opened his tally for the 2024/25 Championship campaign as he was handed a golden opportunity to direct a header goalwards, but he could not convert.

Aside from what happened on the pitch, many will have seen that Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri was present at the game, and one thing became apparent after seeing him on the touchline alongside Rohl.

Dejphon Chansiri spotted at Hillsborough Stadium for Sheffield Wednesday vs Burnley

Chansiri has divided the fan base on many occasions for decisions that have led to protests in recent history, including those organised by The 1867 Group last season.

However, the 2024/25 Championship campaign is yet to dig out any controversies at Sheffield Wednesday up until this point, and the mood was seemingly jovial around Chansiri, who was spotted on the touchlines yesterday after the game.

Per Alan Biggs on X, it was seen that: “Rohl had a short, clearly convivial chat with Dejphon Chansiri on the touchline after the game.

“Smiling a lot & greeting people including players.

“[Sheffield Wednesday’s] owner was obviously enjoying being back at S6 despite the result & the top two looked pretty tight to me.”

Danny Rohl relationship with Dejphon Chansiri will have massive benefits for the club

There have been occasions in the previous years where Chansiri has been somewhat at the centre of controversies at the club, however under Rohl things have been much smoother, and this easily could be down to what seemingly looks to be a very civil and respectable relationship between the two prominent figures at the club.

It is crucial that Rohl retains this positive relationship with the owner as it will clearly have a knock-on effect in regards to Chansiri backing the German coach, and whilst all the signings haven’t quite worked out yet, it is certainly safe to say that he was backed by the chairman this summer.

With Chansiri looking to turn around his reputation at the club, and the fact that Rohl is a the helm as coach, things are looking positive at the club for the long-term, despite the inconsistent results on the pitch.
