Aston Villa and Wolves are reportedly showing ‘interest’ in Hammarby attacker Bazoumana Toure, according to a report by Fotboll Skanalen. The likes of Arsenal, Brighton and Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
The 18-year-old, who is under contract with his current club until the summer of 2028, is valued at £5million by Transfermarkt. He is being tipped for a bright future in the game.
Aston Villa and Wolves could see him as someone to bolster their ranks down the line. They have to wait until the January transfer window to make an official approach for his services.
Toure has been in impressive form for Hammarby so far this season. He has made 20 appearances in all competitions and has chipped in with seven goals and three assists.
They could face a battle to keep hold of him due to the sheer number of clubs who are being linked with a swoop for him at the moment. He is an attacker who can operate on either wing or down the middle if needed.
This versatility would come in handy for either Aston Villa or Wolves if one of them was able to lure him over to the Midlands. The fact he is already getting a taste for senior football over in Sweden will be boosting his development.
Time will tell whether he ends up leaving Hammarby this winter or waits until next summer. His side are currently sat in 2nd place in the Allsvenskan table behind Malmo.
Toure is getting regular first-team football and he is unlikely to get that straight away if he was to move over to the Premier League. Therefore, he needs to carefully consider his options and make sure he is playing at the right team for him at this moment in time.
Aston Villa drew 1-1 with AFC Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon at Villa Park. Speaking afterwards, Emery said: “Thank you to the supporters. We are frustrated but we played a fantastic game.
“We are frustrated because we conceded a goal in the last moment but against one team like Bournemouth [that can happen]. Even deserving to win, when we were winning we were not getting the two-goal difference, we were defending until the last moment.
“We needed to be focused and to be in our game plan being consistent. We played a fantastic game, a fantastic match in the first half and even in the first 30 minutes of the second half we played well, scored one goal and created chances. The goalkeeper saved a lot of chances for them.
“In the last ten minutes after we were winning, they were pushing, they were creating some corners and they scored. We are frustrated but we have to try to be in balance with how we played today and were performing in the match until the last minute. We will keep going, be positive. We will try to stand up quickly and prepare the next matches.”
