Liverpool notched four goals against Bayer Leverkusen in a rampant Champions League victory.
Luis Diaz got a hat-trick and Cody Gakpo also found the back of the net with Curtis Jones impressing. It looks like Arne Slot and his players will glide through to the last-16 of the competition without too much fuss. And, of course, they are well-placed in the Premier League as well.
In the expanded Champions League format, the last two matches of the competition will come in January – by which time clubs could have made some additions to their rosters. Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds…
Castello Lukeba (RB Leipzig)
RB Leipzig center-back Castello Lukeba is being eyed by both Liverpool and Real Madrid ahead of the next summer transfer window, according to the Spanish outlet Fichajes. Valued at as much as $98m (£75m/€90m), the two teams are said to be “pushing” for a deal.
Lukeba is a talented emerging defender who has also been linked with several other Premier League clubs. The 21-year-old Frenchman plays for RB Leipzig, a side that Liverpool has done plenty of business with before.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool could snap up Rayan Ait-Nouri for a cut-price fee in 2025. Long linked with a move to Anfield, the Algerian full-back has also been linked with Manchester City.
No reason is suggested for why Wolves would cash in on the cheap. Even if it was relegated, the Midlands side would be desperate to get a sum as large as possible. And in the scenario, Liverpool would be far from the only interested party.
Liverpool.com says: Ait-Nouri is a really impressive player. As good as Andy Robertson has been, he is 30 now and there will have to be a succession plan in place. Kostas Tsimikas is there as well, of course, but even the Greek will be 29 by next summer.
