Chelsea striker Armando Broja was left out of the matchday squad against Manchester City amid transfer links to Everton.
The London side played host to the defending champions on Sunday, 18 August, and they opted to leave out a number of exit-linked players.
Along with the Albanian, the likes of Conor Gallagher, Romelu Lukaku and Ben Chilwell were also not included in the squad.
To make things seemingly apparent, Broja’s squad number has also been given to summer signing Neto.
Daily Mail reported on 8 August that the Toffees are keen on signing the 22-year-old and talks will be held over a potential transfer.
Everton must now make moves to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja
Chelsea’s behaviour clearly signals their intent to facilitate his exit.
This move simplifies Everton’s path to signing him, as Chelsea’s actions indicate a willingness to negotiate his transfer.
He would be the tall and physical presence Sean Dyche likes in attack and it will also push Dominic Calvert-Lewin to improve.
Broja’s arrival could potentially open the door for the Merseyside outfit to even cash in on Beto before the window closes.
