AFC Wimbledon have signed Hibernian centre-back Riley Harbottle on a two-year deal.

AFC Wimbledon have secured centre-back Riley Harbottle from Hibernian on a two-year contract.

The 23-year-old, who spent the latter part of last season on loan at Colchester United with 12 appearances in League Two, adds depth to Wimbledon’s defensive lineup. He joins Joe Lewis, Ryan Johnson, and Isaac Ogundere in the squad as they prepare for their opening game of the season against Colchester.

Harbottle expressed his enthusiasm about the move, stating, “The future is exciting for me. I’m thrilled to embrace this new opportunity and challenge. This club is really exciting, and I was determined to be part of it. After discussing it with the manager, it was an easy decision. I aim to settle here and help Wimbledon reach the league above.”

Johnnie Jackson, Wimbledon’s manager, praised Harbottle’s fit for the team, noting, “Riley matches the profile we’re looking for—young, eager, and experienced at this level. His addition provides us with solid depth in defense and aligns well with our style of play. His eagerness to join us is very encouraging.”

Craig Cope, Head of Football Operations, also welcomed Harbottle, saying, “We’re pleased to have Riley with us. He’s a player we’ve been tracking and fits our needs perfectly. His hunger and readiness to advance his career with us are exciting.”
