Tottenham Hotspur have received interest in one of their regulars in the starting XI from Turkish giants Galatasaray this summer.
The coming weeks and months are going to see some considerable movement in and out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Ange Postecoglou having already promised change.
Some exits have already been sanctioned by Daniel Levy with players like Tanguy Ndombele already departing the club after seeing his contract torn up.
But there is still work to be done with the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg a player who is expected to be moved on following the conclusion of the Euros.
However, it now seems as if Tottenham have received a shock approach for one of their players who has established himself under Postecoglou.
Tottenham regular receives interest from Galatasaray
Over the 2023/24 campaign, Postecoglou was testing his options at his disposal to form an understanding of what his best XI was.
The midfield was an area which caused him considerable issues with the likes of Yves Bissouma seeing his form fall off a cliff after a promising start to the term.
Having seen Rodrigo Bentancur finally return to fitness following two significant injuries, Postecoglou was able to use the Uruguayan in his side.
But it seems the midfielder could well be headed for the exit this summer after picking up interest from a Galatasaray side which has seen a lot of former Tottenham players arrive over recent years.
According to a report from Turkish outlet Takvim, Galatasaray are showing a shock interest in the Tottenham midfielder, Bentancur.
It is claimed the Turkish side have already met with the 26-year-old’s agent to discuss personal terms such as the midfielder’s wage demands.
Bentancur’s preference is not mentioned in the report, but it is believed to be unlikely Spurs would allow his exit along with Hojbjerg’s.
Although Galatasaray are aware a deal could be difficult to pull off, they are said to be prepared to work for his signature.
Tottenham cannot lose Rodrigo Bentancur this summer
The Lilywhites are not one of the Premier League sides who are going into the summer window knowing they need to sell players to balance the books this summer.
Any sales at Tottenham would purely be to held fund any signings and to create space for new players to come in.
However, there does not seem to be any pressing need to sell Bentancur on the back of last season considering he was only really finding his fitness again after almost a full year on the sidelines.
Despite not being at his absolute best, he was hailed by former Spurs player Stephen Kelly as “sensational” following the draw at Old Trafford.
And it is not like it is another Premier League or even a Saudi Pro League club who are coming in with their financial might.
Although Spurs only paid around £21m for the midfielder, it is difficult to imagine them turning much of a profit on him if Galatasaray are to make their move.
