Wolves centre-back Max Kilman is someone who West Ham United very clearly want to sign this summer.
West Ham first identified Max Kilman as a transfer target back in the summer of 2023, when a £30 million deal was mooted.
Julen Lopetegui will have to convince the Hammers owners to part with a lot more cash than that now, if he wants to bring Kilman to the London Stadium this summer.
With the cost of the Kilman deal potential rising to around £45 million, it has been suggested that the West Ham manger could switch focus to Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah.
Whether that’s a diversion tactic is unclear, but I personally think that Lopetegui has eyes only for Max Kilman.
The Wolves centre-back is exactly the kind of player we need at the London Stadium, and he’d improve us overnight.
However, the West Ham transfer team need to think long and hard about the long-term merits of overpaying for the. 27-year-old.
New information has emerged today regarding the transfer saga, and Wolves are clearly becomming impatient…
Max Kilman to West Ham twist comes to light
There’s a reason why Kilman is Lopetegui’s main transfer target this summer.
The Hammers boss managed him during his time in charge at Wolves, and the centre-back was the club captain under the Spanaird.

He’s powerful in the challenge, dominating in the air and leads with authority from the back. He actually possesses decent pace for a big man as well.
Now there has been a new twist in the Hammers’ pursuit of Kilman.
According to The Sun’s Jack Rosser, Wolves have made a new demand of West Ham in the ongoing transfer saga.
Kilman may well join the Hammers in the end but whether he’ll do so for a reasonable fee remains to be seen.
Rosser has suggested that Wolves are putting pressure on the Hammers to make an improved bid for the 27-year-old this week.
The Hammers are said to be preparing a new offer, and Kilman himself is keen to move to the London Stadium this summer.
Max Kilman would take West Ham to another level defensively, and he’d be the ideal candidate to take over from Kurt Zouma as the new captain as well, what with his fantastic leadership skills.
Last season’s record of 74 Premier League goals conceded quite simply wasn’t good enough, and the Wolves man would undoubtedly help the Hammers improve upon that.
Whether West Ham and Wolves can agree on a fee for the former Maidenhead man remains to be seen though.
