Arizona Diamondbacks Take 2 of 3 from the Washington Nationals

In today’s episode, Gabe and Brett recap the Arizona Diamondbacks series victory over the Washington Nationals and discuss what stood out to us over the course of this series in the Nations’ Capital.
In Game 1 we wondered if Slade Cecconi’s mechanical adjustment of his plant foot could be the key to his success going forward and if Corbin Carroll has shown enough signs over these past few weeks for them to declare him as “being back”.
For the disappointing Game 2 loss, Gabe and I questioned why the D-Backs seem to struggle against sub-par pitchers that they should be performing well against. We also questioned if Brandon Pfaadt’s lack of K’s was due to him being slightly off on a humid day, or the Nationals just having an aggressive game plan against him.
The Game 3 rubber match had us talking about Ryne Nelson’s really solid June and asked ourselves if this is the new him. We also checked up on the Blaze VS Geno battle for 3rd, and who we think is the odd man out will be when Alek returns. Gabe and I also put ourselves in Torey’s shoes and gave our two cents on getting Jake McCarthy more playing time.
