Wolves are after another number 10, but one target has now emerged for a rival who have just come into some serious cash.
Wolves completed a deal for Fer Lopez last week to get the ball rolling for the summer.
£19.5 million was enough to get the deal over the line, and now fans want to see more new faces come through the door.
Several names have been mentioned in recent weeks.
Wolves have been eyeing Harvey Elliott, but the Liverpool man looks to be too expensive at the moment.
Evann Guessand is another player Wolves have looked at, and there was even a claim that Wolves had lodged a bid.
Bilal El Khannouss has been on Wolves’ radar too, but another club have just joined the hunt and potentially, Wolves may struggle to match their spending power.
Bayer Leverkusen want Wolves target Bilal El Khannouss to replace Florian Wirtz

The 2024/25 season was not a good one for Leicester City.
The Foxes finished 18th on just 25 points, and were extremely toothless throughout the season.
But El Khannouss was one of their bright sparks, and the Morocco international is expected to move on this summer rather than play in the Championship after Leicester’s relegation.
Wolves have been credited with showing an interest.
But according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Bayer Leverkusen are now interested – and they have cash to burn.
Tavolieri said: “Bayer Leverkusen eyeing Bilal El Khannouss! In search of a playmaker to replace Florian Wirtz, the German club has recently inquired about his personal terms.
“Already interested back when he was a KRC Genk player, #Bayer04 is keeping a close watch on the situation. Wait & See. #mercato #LCFC.”

El Khannouss feels unlikely for Wolves
Leverkusen entering the race for El Khannouss is potentially bad news for Wolves.
The German outfit – who’ll play in next season’s Champions League—have just sold Florian Wirtz to Liverpool, and that transfer will net them £100 million initially, with a further £16 million to come through add-ons.
They seemingly have the means to blow Wolves out of of the water if the two clubs both start bidding.
But realistically, given Fer Lopez has just signed, many Wolves fans would hope that an older, more experienced player will be brought in for that left number 10 position.
El Khannouss is an exciting young player with ‘exceptional tactical knowledge’ (via Get Belgian & Dutch Football News), but Wolves could probably do with someone a little more proven at this time.
