Bayern Munich loan sensation Paul Wanner continues strong run of play in Heidenheim victory over FC Augsburg

Bayern Munich loanee Paul Wanner keeps making history.

The precocious 18-year-old became the youngest player to score a penalty in the 9th minute of Heidenheim’s 4-0 beatdown of FC Augsburg. For Wanner, it was yet another impressive performance in what has been an extremely strong start to the season:

Later, Wanner added an assist to his ledger when he set up Adrian Beck. For the match, Wanner played 70 minutes, completed 83% of his passes and won four ground duels. Wanner did lose possession 15 times, which could definitely be improved upon, but this has been an extremely solid start to the season for the youngster.

If Wanner continues to play at this level, Bayern Munich is going to have some interesting decisions to make at the end of the season. The club and Jamal Musiala needs to work out a contract extension and an acquisition of Bayer Leverkusen ace Florian Wirtz is a constant topic of discussion.

Does Bayern Munich need three (potential) young stars for one position?
