Goalkeeper
Leopold Wahlstedt will be between the sticks at Ewood Park. The Swedish shot-stopper will be hoping for a quieter match after conceding three last time out.
Defence
Although Rovers conceded three at Hillsborough, it could be the same defence against Leeds. Dom Hyam remains a few weeks away and so Tomasson doesn’t have that many options.
James Hill will need to be at his best to stifle the threat of Crysencio Summerville, with Hayden Carter and Scott Wharton in the middle. On the opposite flank, Harry Pickering will hope to celebrate his new contract by keeping Daniel James quiet.
Midfield
Sondre Tronstad and Adam Wharton look set to continue in central midfield but there could be a re-jig to add some extra steel against Leeds’.
Lewis Travis is back from suspension and hasn’t started in his preferred position for two months. However, Tomasson could choose to add an extra body to try and prevent the Whites from dominating possession.
The captain has the energy to get about the pitch too and press high up the pitch. I think all three could start.
Attack
With Sam Szmodics moving into the attack, someone has to miss out. That could mean Harry Leonard drops to the bench with Rovers’ top-scorer operating as a false nine down the middle.
Callum Brittain and Andrew Moran have been the preferred options in advanced wide areas and I think that will continue to be the case this weekend. Hopefully, Brittain is back on the right and Moran on the left, which suits both players much better.
Dilan Markanday, Semir Telalovic and Leonard will provide support from the bench
Blackburn Rovers (4-3-3): Wahlstedt; Hill, Carter, S.Wharton, Pickering; Tronstad, Travis, A.Wharton; Brittain, Moran, Szmodics.
