Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has acknowledged that while recent signings like Adam Idah, Paulo Bernardo, Kasper Schmeichel, and Viljami Sinisalo have been well-received by fans, there is still room for improvement in the club’s recruitment process.
With two weeks left in the transfer window, Rodgers emphasized the need to strengthen multiple positions, particularly in defense. The club has been without a head of recruitment since parting ways with Mark Lawwell earlier in the summer, which has led to much discussion about the effectiveness of their transfer strategy.
Speaking to *Celtic TV*, Rodgers expressed his appreciation for the hard work of the current staff but hinted at upcoming changes to enhance recruitment efforts. He said, “We need to improve that – not the people here. The people that are here are absolutely fantastic… But it’s still an area I think that we can review after the window and see where, like every area and department, where we can improve it.”
Rodgers highlighted the importance of getting recruitment right to avoid costly mistakes and mentioned that a constant evaluation of the process is necessary to ensure it aligns with the club’s goals.
Reflecting on his long-term vision for Celtic, Rodgers reiterated his desire to be involved in shaping the club’s future in all aspects, including recruitment. He sees his second stint at Celtic as a long-term project and wants to establish processes that will help secure top talent and elevate the team to new heights. What form these changes will take remains to be seen, but bringing in an experienced professional to lead recruitment and negotiations could be key to supporting Rodgers’ ambitions for the club.
I don’t unremarkably comment but I gotta tell thanks for the post on this great one : D.
