Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark nearly broke the internet a few weeks ago when she showed up for the Kansas City Chiefs’ divisional-round matchup against the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium and shared a suite with Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Clark is a noted diehard Chiefs fan, and she’s gone out of her way several times to declare she and her family grew up rooting for the defending Super Bowl champions.
She’s also made it known that she’s also a dedicated Swiftie, even attending back-to-back “Eras Tour” shows in Indianapolis just a few months ago. Clark and Swift went viral several times during the Texans game after cameras captured their spirited celebrations and general reactions to big moments, and fans declared the two lifelong best friends because of their natural chemistry together.
During a recent appearance on the “Swarmcast” podcast, Clark explained the details of what Swift was really like outside of her usual element as a world-class performer. “I’m a huge Chiefs fan, and Taylor is a huge Chiefs fan,” Clark said. “Taylor is very sweet and very kind, and it’s a good reminder that people in our position are very normal. We enjoy watching sports and hanging out with our friends. It puts a great perspective on life.”
Though Swift is arguably the most famous person on the planet right now, Clark stated it was refreshing to see that the 14-time Grammy winner was just like a regular sports fan when she’s not performing. “It’s just cute to see how excited she is for the Chiefs and getting to share that I was like, ‘Oh my god, she loves this; she loves the Chiefs as much as me; this is incredible,'” Clark continued. “We had so much fun, and honestly it was the perfect game.
The Chiefs won; it was close at halftime. Travis scores a huge touchdown for the Chiefs, and we ended up winning. “There was nothing crazy that happened, and we felt confident as it got to the end. It ended up being a perfect game. I was a little nervous because the last time I went to Arrowhead, we lost. I was like, I don’t want to be a bad luck charm but it’s all good; we figured it out and I am allowed back.”
