Chiefs snap 2-game skid with 27-17 win over Patriots

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (KWCH) – Patrick Mahomes threw for 305 yards and two touchdowns while the Chiefs scored 20 consecutive points en route to a 27-17 win at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.

The win snaps a two-game losing streak and clinches an 11th-consecutive winning season, the longest active streak in the NFL.
The Chiefs can clinch the AFC West title with a win and Broncos loss in Week 16.
The Chiefs were forced to settle for a field goal attempt on their opening drive due to a penalty, and Harrison Butker suffered his first missed kick of the season.
The Patriots in turn missed a field goal of their own on the next drive.

Kansas City responded with a 48-yard catch and run by Clyde Edwards-Helaire before Jerick McKinnon threw a touchdown on a shovel pass to Rashee Rice.
New England tied the game on a Hunter Henry touchdown reception on fourth-and-2 from the 16.
Mahomes was intercepted on the following play, leading to a Patriots field goal and 10-7 lead.
The Chiefs went 75 yards on 11 plays, ending their next drive with a Mahomes passing touchdown to McKinnon from 8 yards out for a 14-10 halftime lead.
Up 17-10 early in the third, Willie Gay Jr. intercepted Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe, and a touchdown reception by Edwards-Helaire extended the lead to 27-10.
In the fourth, Mahomes was intercepted on a dropped pass by Kadarius Toney, leading to a New England rushing touchdown with 8:24 to play.
Mahomes finished 27-of-37 passing for 305 yards with a pair of touchdowns and interceptions. His 13 interceptions tie a career high.
Rice caught all of his team-high nine targets for 91 yards.
Travis Kelce, with Taylor Swift on hand celebrating her birthday week, was held to 28 yards on five catches.
Four different Chiefs defenders tallied sacks.
Kansas City returns to Arrowhead for a rare Monday noon kick on Christmas Day against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The season will finish with a 3:25 p.m. New Years Eve game on Sunday, Dec. 31, before a trip to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 18.
The Chiefs currently hold the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoff picture behind the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins.
