As Atlético Mineiro remain strong in the pursuit of Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa, the Brazilian media shows the confidence there is they’ll win this race.
A new story from Goal Brasil claims the Galo are now ‘excited’ about the transfer and hope to announce him ‘before the Christmas holidays’.
It’s said that Atlético already have a ‘positive sign’ from Scarpa, and are now trying to ‘accelerate’ a deal with Nottingham Forest.
With the Tricky Trees ruling out the possibility of a loan deal, the offer is for a permanent move worth €4.5m.
According to Goal Brasil, Atlético are handing Scarpa a four-year deal. His request was also for a monthly salary worth €224k, plus €3.7m as a signing bonus, but the club managed to bring those numbers down a little.

The story says there’s this intention to announce his signing as a ‘Christmas gift’ for their fans, but that now depends on whether Nottingham Forest will accept the bid.
Since Flamengo are also interested in the player, it does make sense if the Reds wait for other offers to see if they can make more money elsewhere.
