Club poised to make £2.5m bid to sign Rangers first-team player – report

AZ Alkmaar are poised to table a £2.5million bid to sign Rangers attacker Sam Lammers permanently this summer, according to Football Scotland.

The news outlet reported on 2 July that Utrecht look to have been priced out of a deal for the 27-year-old this summer.

Lammers spent the second half of last season on loan at Utrecht, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in 18 Eredivisie games.

Rangers must demand more from AZ Alkmaar for Sam Lammers

Gers should indeed demand more than £2.5million from AZ Alkmaar for Lammers, given his impressive performances in the Eredivisie last season.

Lammers proved his quality and goal-scoring ability during his loan spell at Utrecht, netting 10 goals in 18 league appearances.

As AZ are a stronger team than Utrecht, the 27-year-old could potentially thrive even more at the Dutch club.

His performances in the Eredivisie have demonstrated his ability to adapt and excel in the league, which should increase his value to AZ Alkmaar.

Moreover, Lammers’ experience in the league and his proven goal-scoring record make him a valuable asset for any Eredivisie club.

Gers should capitalise on this and negotiate a higher transfer fee from AZ Alkmaar, as the Dutch club can afford to pay more given their recent sale of Vangelis Pavlidis to Benfica for £14.4 million, per Be Sport.
