Coventry City boss Mark Robins is on Burnley’s list of potential Vincent Kompany replacements, reporter Sacha Tavolieri has said on X.
Coventry City might have fallen short of the play-offs this season but once again, the work of manager Robins has drawn wide praise.
After a poor start to the season following a busy summer transfer window, the long-serving boss led the Sky Blues back towards the top six fight while maintaining a remarkable FA Cup run.

Said run through England’s most prestigious competition only ended in the semi-finals at the hands of Manchester United, who survived a stunning comeback and last-gasp VAR decision to emerge victorious.
Robins’ impressive work recently saw him linked with the newly-vacant post at Hull City, but it looks as though the Tigers have zeroed in on German Tim Walter as their Liam Rosenior replacement.
Now though, it is claimed there is further interest in the Coventry City boss.
Writing on X, Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri states that relegated Premier League side Burnley have Robins on their radar should Vincent Kompany be prized away from Turf Moor. The Belgium and Manchester City legend is in Brighton’s thinking as they weigh up heirs for the sought-after Roberto De Zerbi.
Interest inevitable?
Managers are always recognised for their good work and Robins’ time at Coventry City has been a huge success. In recent years especially, he’s been able to take them to another level as they battle for a place back in the Premier League.
As such, it’s no surprise that clubs such as Burnley are taking note of his work.
While the Clarets are coming down to the Championship, they’re a club with ambitious plans for the future and a forward-thinking manager needs to be at the forefront of that. Should Kompany move on, Robins will fit that profile.
Holding onto Robins
Coventry City have had interest in star men before and with Robins now the one drawing admiring glances, it will be intriguing to see just how the matter pans out.

The 54-year-old is under contract with the club until 2027, so you’d think any club keen to secure his services will need to pay a sizeable compensation to get a deal over the line.
Even then though, clubs could have a hard task on their hands tempting him away from the club. After such a long time at Coventry City, Robins is hugely invested in their ambitions of returning to the Premier League and you have to feel that an offer from a Championship rival wouldn’t be enough for him to leave the Sky Blues behind.
Time will tell if anything comes of the links though, with Burnley keeping their options open.
