Dallas Cowboys: Fans Are Losing Their Minds Over Astronomical Ticket Prices For Week 1 Vs. Cleveland Browns

The Dallas Cowboys have earned the nickname “America’s team” for a reason.

Year after year, they are the most polarizing team in the NFL and their fan base stretches across the United States and even throughout the world.

Heading into 2024, there is more attention on the Cowboys than ever. Jerry Jones is entering the new season without giving their franchise QB, Dak Prescott, a contract extension. He will play 2024 under the final year of his contract — and unless he can harness the playoff demons that have plagued him in his NFL career and lead Dallas on a run toward a Super Bowl this season — there’s a real chance Prescott is playing for a different team in 2025.

Beyond the uncertainty with Prescott, the team has decisions to make about the future of two of its biggest stars. The Dallas Cowboys are expected to make CeeDee Lamb one of the highest paid wide receivers in the NFL and Micah Parsons, who they exercised the 5th-year option on in March, is due to become one of the highest paid defenders in the league.

The 2024 Cowboys will be expected to replicate the success they have had over the last three regular seasons without key pieces from last year’s squad. Dallas has finished with a (12-5) record in each of the last three regular seasons, but have choked in the playoffs when it mattered the most.

Now, Jerry Jones will hope his team can continue the regular season success but overcome the playoff woes with less talent than the team had last year. The Dallas Cowboys lost heir starting running back and will rely on a committee of young backs and veteran Ezekiel Elliott, who re-signed with the organization that drafted him. They lost Michal Gallup, and several key pieces along the offensive line.

On the defensive side of the ball they no longer have Leighton Vander-Esch and Stephon Gilmore. Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is gone and took much of the defensive staff — that helped lead one of the top defenses in the NFL over the last few years — to Washington, the Cowboys rival in the NFC East.

There are always storylines that keep the Cowboys one of the most interesting teams in all of sports, but heading into 2024 the narrative feels deeper and stronger than ever. It truly feels like Dallas has to make a run in the playoffs or Jones is prepared to move on from Prescott, head coach Mike McCarthy and hit the restart button on the entire operation.

Dallas Cowboys Week 1 Tickets Vs. Cleveland Browns Are Insanely Expensive And Fans Are Losing Their Minds

Earlier this week, it was announced the Cowboys will open the 2024 season on the road in Cleveland against the Browns.

The Cowboys finished last season undefeated at home and the Browns closed out the year with an (11-6) overall record.

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is apparently capitalizing on the Dallas Cowboys’ home success from last season, as evidenced by the current ticket prices for the Browns’ home opener against the Cowboys, scheduled for September 8.

One fan on X noted that the prices have officially been posted ahead of Wednesday’s NFL schedule reveal, and they are crazy. McNeil posted to X pointing out that “[the] cheapest opening day… …ticket [right now] is over $200”

The post goes on to say that the club-level seats range from $600 to $1400, which is crazy compared to the average opening day price in the NFL, ranging from $50 to $150, and some fans are not happy.

It’s hard to see if the Dallas Cowboys are driving the spike in prices or if it’s another factor surrounding the game.

One fan pointed out that there would be no point in attending an NFL game today as he would be watching all the games at home, commenting, “Dude, the couch is finna be the spot this year, lol.” Many fans share this sentiment.

Another fan commented on a possible reason for the hike in ticket prices. The reason may be that it will be the first game called by legendary quarterback Tom Brady on his Fox deal. The comment indicated that “the prices went up $120+” after the official announcement.

Whatever the reason, fans remain unhappy with the current prices for the Dallas Cowboys road opener against the Cleveland Browns, and hopefully, they will cool off in the near future as the NFL season gets underway in September.
