The deal between AC Milan and Como for Malick Thiaw might fall through as the player is not convinced by the move.
Multiple sources stated on Thursday that an agreement had been reached with Como over a €25m deal for Thiaw. The previous talk regarding the central defender was a possible return to the Bundesliga, to Bayer Leverkusen more specifically.
According to the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio, Como are still working on the signing of Thiaw, and they are trying to convince the German to join them, but his approval is still missing.
The Milan defender is, in fact, still evaluating the possible destination, and the negotiations ‘remain complicated at the moment,’ suggesting there is a chance that things fall through.
It was claimed that a salary offer of €4m net per year was put on the table, which would be a big increase compared to what he earns now (less than €1m net per year).
Nonetheless, at present it seems as though Thiaw’s doubts have not been resolved. It is possible that he is waiting for a club that will participate in European competitions to try and boost his German national team chances ahead of the World Cup next year.
