Everton will respect Nottingham Forest says Sørensen ahead of FA Cup tie – WSL Full-Time

Everton manager Brian Sørensen says that his side will give Nottingham Forest respect when the two teams meet at Grange Park on Sunday.

The Blue Girls travel to Long Eaton to face The Tricky Trees in an Adobe Women’s FA Cup fifth round tie.

As the Barclays Women’s Super League club, Everton will be the hot favourites to qualify for the quarter-finals.

When speaking in the pre-match press conference, Sørensen said that he has been able to watch some of Nottingham Forest’s recent matches and that the third tier club will be respected.

“We have seen some footage on Nottingham Forest and they’re doing quite well in the third tier,” Sørensen said.

“We’ve seen their games against Burnley and Newcastle and they look like they want to play, they look like a good team. We don’t take the task lightly at all, we want to progress in the FA Cup.

“Let’s also see what the playing conditions are like. We’ve seen footage from Grange Park and the pitch is probably not what we are used to, so it is something that we will need to take into consideration.

“It should be a game that we progress from but we respect them, they are doing well and they have a well-grouped team.”

It is extremely rare to see a non-elite club knock out a top tier opponent in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

While Sørensen fully-expects progression from his side, he again emphasised the need to respect Nottingham Forest.

He said “We need to be good. We respect them and prepare for it like any other game.

Of course, we know that we will be the dominant team but we have great respect for what they are doing. We will put absolutely everything into it to get a win.”

Everton’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup fifth round tie at Nottingham Forest kicks-off at 4pm on Sunday afternoon.
