FCSB, facing the most expensive transfer in the history of the Super League

The day after FCSB won the duel with FC Botoșani in round number 19 of the Super League , with a score of 2-1 , Gigi Becali spoke about the possible transfer of Daniel Bîrligea (24 years old).

Thanks to the 12th-minute goal against Botoșani, Bîrligea became the sole leader in the Super League’s top scorers , with 10 goals. The FCSB owner said he was impressed by the performances of the striker transferred from CFR Cluj and is convinced that he will not be able to keep him for much longer.

  • Gigi Becali paid two million euros for Bîrligea’s transfer from CFR Cluj.
  • Daniel Bîrligea managed 15 goals and 3 assists in 27 matches this season, for CFR and FCSB, in all competitions.

Gigi Becali, about Daniel Bîrligea: ” I think he will stay with us for a maximum of 6-7 months, someone will pay the clause “

The champion’s financier stated that, in his opinion, at the end of the 2024/2025 season, a team will pay Daniel Bîrligea’s 15 million euro release clause.

” Bîrligea is a valuable player. I think he will stay with us for a maximum of 6-7 months, someone will pay the clause. I don’t know if we will catch him next year (no – next season). He will play 3-4 more European matches ,” Becali said, according to Fanatik .

If Bîrligea leaves FCSB for 15 million euros, the Romanian international will become the protagonist of the most expensive transfer in the history of the Super League. At the moment, the first place is Dennis Man’s move to Parma, for 11 million euros.

” Bîrligea is exactly what I wanted, a striker-scorer. He doesn’t miss, he doesn’t miss from any position, he puts pressure on the goalkeeper, on the opposing central defenders. That’s how it should be, yes! “, Gigi Becali also said about Daniel Bîrligea.

After playing for Academia Hagi and Luceafărul Brăila, Bîrligea continued his junior career in Italy, at Palermo. He also played for Teramo, and in January 2022 he was “repatriated” by CFR Cluj.

  • Valeriu Iftime (64 years old), owner of FC Botoșani, stated that he is interested in the transfers of Daniel Popa (29 years old) and Luis Phelipe (23 years old) from FCSB.

Among the FCSB players who could leave the team this winter are Luis Phelipe and Daniel Popa. Both could end up in Moldova, at FC Botoșani.

Daniel Popa and Luis Phelipe, wanted by FC Botoșani

Valeriu Iftime, the owner of the Botoșani team, is waiting for them in Moldova, if Gigi Becali chooses to give up their services for free.

“I don’t have any more players to give to FCSB, I want to take them. A top player from there who doesn’t play much, Popa. I’m not talking about a transfer yet because Gigi Becali is involved in politics now.”

I’ll talk to Liviu Ciobotariu to look for a striker. I don’t want a loan anymore, I want him to be my player. And Luis Phelipe is interesting, I talked to his agent.

“If they let him go, I’ll take him! I’ll take what’s bad from FCSB, they took what was best from me,” according to fanatik.ro .

How Popa and Phelipe fared at FCSB

In 26 matches in the champion’s jersey, the striker managed to score two goals and provide four assists.

The player is valued at 900 thousand euros, according to transfermarkt.com .

The other player wanted by Botoșani, Brazilian Luis Phelipe, arrived in the champion’s camp during the transfer window last winter, for the sum of 200,000 euros, from Poli Iași.

Since his arrival in Bucharest, the 23-year-old player has played in 24 matches for the champion, managing to score two goals and provide only one assist.

The Brazilian is valued at 500,000 euros.
