Former FCSB striker, direct answer when asked about a possible return to Romania

The 28-year-old striker’s contract expires at the end of this year and he decided not to extend his deal with the Chinese club despite claiming he felt very good in China.

Andrea Compagno is free from contract after ending his adventure at Tianjin Jinmen Tiger, a club active in the Chinese championship.

The Italian striker hopes that the formidable developments he has had in Chinese football will bring him a transfer to Serie A, this being his big dream.

Compagno has recently been courted by two Superliga teams, Rapid and CFR Cluj, but the Italian is reluctant about such a move because of the money.

Compagno wants a lot of money to return to Romania

If he doesn’t make it to Serie A, Compagno would like to maintain his salary level in China in the coming years, which makes a transfer to the Romanian championship difficult from the start, where salaries are known to be not too high.

“After this year (in China) it is a great opportunity to stay at this salary level ,” said Andrea Compagno, according to iAMSport .

  • 850,000 euros per year was the salary Compagno earned in China.

Andrea Compagno scored 19 goals in 29 games for Tianjin Jinmen Tiger during his time in China.

At the beginning of 2023, Andrea Compagno came to the attention of Roberto Mancini, the former Italy coach, being included in the expanded squad for the “Squadra Azzurra” matches against England and Malta in the EURO 2024 qualifiers. In the end, he did not make the final squad.
