Our former goalkeeper Joe Hart has announced his retirement from professional football.

Hart, who signed for us ahead of the 2020/21 season, made 10 appearances for us in all competitions in a sole campaign in north London before he departed our doors for current club Celtic in the summer of 2021.

And after three years with the Scottish champions, he has announced that he will hang up his gloves at the end of the current season following a trophy-laden career.

Beginning his career with his local team Shrewsbury Town, the goalkeeper moved to Manchester City in 2006 where he spent nine

years and was a key man in the Citizens first two Premier League title wins (2011/12 and 2013/14) while he also helped them to an FA Cup (2010/11) and two League Cups (2013/14 and 2015/16).

He later enjoyed spells at Torino, West Ham and the Clarets before arriving in N17 in August, 2020, as we prepared for a season behind closed doors following the outbreak of the COVID pandemic.

His debut came in UEFA Europa League qualifying as we secured a third round qualifying as we ran out 3-1 winners

over KF Shkëndija in North Macedonia. He went on to make eight appearances in our run to the

competition’s quarter-finals, while he also played two games in the FA Cup.

He was part of the squad that reached the 2021 Carabao Cup Final and was an unused substitute at Wembley as we fell 1-0 to Manchester City.
