For many fans, supporting Wolves these days has changed for the worse.
The club is now in its seventh season in the Premier League, and plenty are unhappy with the current state of affairs.
The team is struggling due to a variety of factors, and sadly for many people, supporting the club has become more and more difficult financially.
Wolves angered a great many fans in the summer by putting up season ticket prices.
A petition was created against the ticket price rises at Wolves and it got a strong level of support to the tune of over 15,000 signatures to date. Eventually, a decision was made to scrap rises for U14 tickets, and there was an agreement to freeze adult tickets next season.
But some felt the club still did not do enough.
Disgruntled fans who feel they are being exploited will now see their voices heard, in what could be an uncomfortable couple of weeks for Fosun.
Wolves fans to back nationwide campaign by Football Supporters’ Association
At the moment, fans of many Premier League clubs are not happy with the way they are being treated.
The cost of living crisis remains, and many are now simply being priced out of supporting the football clubs they love and have long been so loyal to.
The Football Supporters’ Association is now organising a nationwide campaign, which will allow football fan groups to become vocal and visible against their own clubs.
The ‘Stop Exploiting Loyalty’ campaign will see fan groups stage protests in the coming weeks, and the Wolves 1877 Supporters Trust will be speaking up for Wolves fans.
This weekend for the trip to Brighton, the group will meet with Seagulls fans ahead of the game support the campaign.
Then, there will be another protest at Molineux for the visit of Crystal Palace on November 6.
We have seen what the power of collective protest can achieve when the clubs intending to join the Super League all backtracked in 2021 and hopefully, something similarly brilliant can be achieved with this campaign.
Time to crank up the pressure on the Wolves owners
It is great to see that the FSA’s campaign is being so well supported as currently, the loyal match-going fan is really suffering.
For so many people, football is the greatest outlet. It is something special, and something people dedicate their lives to.
That clubs feel comfortable pricing out their most loyal supporters is disgusting and hopefully, this campaign is going to draw plenty of attention to the situation at the moment.
Wolves fans have been especially annoyed in recent times with the way their club has been run. The decision to raise season ticket prices in the summer was a massive slap in the face considering the level of loyal support that has been given despite so many sorry performances on the pitch.
There is also a perceived lack of ambition from the Wolves owners.
Fosun are extremely unpopular with a lot of people at Molineux right now, and it is very important they take in these protests.
It will be particularly interesting to see how things pan out at the Palace game. No doubt, fans will make their voices heard.
