Leeds United duo Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter have been discussing a number of club topics this week in the buildup to the playoff final, including who Daniel Farke’s favourite in the squad is.
The Whites are one game away from the glory of returning to the Premier League, having beaten Norwich City in the playoff semi-final, facing Southampton in the final at Wembley this Sunday.
To get there, Daniel Farke has done a remarkable job of picking the side up after a dismal end to last season with relegation.
With the media day taking place this week at Thorp Arch, a number of the players conducted interviews on various subjects, including Georginio Rutter and Archie Gray.
The young duo featured on Leeds’ official YouTube channel discussing a number of topics in a quickfire round of questions.
One of Rutter’s turns to read a question to Gray brought a card saying: “Who is the most likely to get an invite to the manager’s house for a dinner?”
Gray’s immediate response brought an unsurprising answer without hesitation:
It sparked huge laughter from Rutter, who was in total agreement of the full-back being Farke’s favourite in the current squad.
Byram re-joined Leeds in the summer of 2023 as a free agent after leaving Norwich City, having been signed by Farke at Carrow Road, then re-united with the German at his boyhood club.
Byram isn’t the only player from Farke’s time at Norwich that was wanted at Elland Road, with Max Aarons almost joining as well as Kenny McLean being bid for.
He had a lot of talent in that squad and you can see why he signed them, in particular Byram for his experience.
The 30-year-old has been a great addition to our squad this term for no cost, giving us solid depth on both sides of the pitch.
