John Hartson tells Celtic to pay £5m for ‘outstanding’ 24-year-old

The need to add another striker at Celtic in the January window has never been more apparent now after the news that Hyeongyu Oh and Hyunjun Yang have been called up to the South Korean Asian Cup squad.

With Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda likely to be called up for Japan, Celtic will have a serious problem on their hands on their hands in the striking department.

The South Korean FA released on social media channel X this morning that both Yang and Oh will travel to the tournament in January which means they will miss a minimum of two games,

Ross County in the league and Buckie Thistle in the Scottish Cup, depending on whether or not Korea progress in the tournament.

This is why John Hartson is urging his old club to go all out and sign Aberdeen striker, Bojan Miovski.

The Hoops have been linked with having interest in the striker and Hartson believes Rodgers should look to spend £5m on the player.

Hartson said [The Go Radio Football Show], “I think he’d be a brilliant signing for Celtic. I think he gets players playing off him.

“Fantastic at holding it up. You know you got really good signs of getting a hold of the ball, linking players in, he’s a wonderful finisher.

When asked what he would pay for the North Macedonian international, Hartson said, “I would pay £5 million for him.

“I think he’s an outstanding player.”

Miovski does have a great goalscoring record in an Aberdeen team that has been struggling of late.

14 goals in 27 appearances is a great return and the question would be just how many could he get in a team like Celtic that is constantly creating chances. [Transfermarkt]

At just 24, Miovski does fit the transfer model of Celtic but whether or not the club would

be willing to pay a record-breaking transfer fee between two Scottish clubs is another matter entirely.
