Jose Mourinho is keen on a reunion with Victor Lindelof, his former defender at Manchester United, as Fenerbahce plans on an €8 million bid.
According to FotoMac, Fenerbahce are about to make an €8 million bid to sign Victor Lindelof from Manchester United. New boss Jose Mourinho is keen on a reunion with the Serdish defender, who he signed at Old Trafford in a €35 million move from Benfica back in 2017.
Jose Mourinho keen on Victor Lindelof reunion
Victor Lindelof could consider his future at Manchester United despite p[playing 28 times for the Red Devils under Erik ten Hag. The defender is somewhat unhappy with his secondary role, as he believes he might have played less had the manager had his first-choice players fit and available.
He does expect little time, and with Manchester United keen to raise funds through sales, the Swede might be on top of their sales list. In fact, Lindelof has entered the final year of his deal, with some European clubs keen on signing him, as Fenerbahce have emerged as his latest suitor.
Fenerbahce have appointed Jose Mourinho as their new manager, and the Portuguese were responsible for bringing Lindelof to Manchester United back in 2017 in a €35 million move from Benfica. He used the Swede well during his spell at Old Trafford and now wants a reunion with the Turkish defender.
Fenerbahce are reportedly ready to make an €8 million bid for Fenerbahce, although he does have a market value of €15 million as per Transfermarkt. Yet, with a year left on his Manchester United deal, the Turkish giants will want to see a massive reduction in the asking price. However, the Red Devils might end up asking for around €10 million as negotiations progress.
Mourinho eyeing further reunions
The idea of a reunion with Lindelof is one of many of the kinds that Mourinho wants this summer, as he has another Manchester United man, Raphael Varane, on his shortlist. The Frenchman will leave Old Trafford on a free transfer and could choose Fenerbahce, although he might have big interest coming from Saudi Arabia.
There’s also a reunion with Son Heung-min on Mourinho’s mind, but at this stage, such a move for the Spurs man will look impossible, considering the money involved in such a deal. Moreover, Tottenham may not sell their talismanic forward, who might, in turn, have big offers from significantly larger clubs than Fenerbahce.
