Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has given his verdict on Jacob Ramsey amid speculation linking him with Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle United are also reportedly trying to sign Ramsey from Villa.

So, what has Unai Emery said about Tottenham Hotspur target Jacob Ramsey? Let’s take a look.

Aston Villa will not sell Tottenham Hotspur target Jacob Ramsey

Well, Aston Villa attacking midfielder Jacob Ramsey is in demand.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are among the clubs who have been linked with the 22-year-old.

According to The Athletic, Newcastle have already made an approach for Ramsey.

Tottenham have “made clear their admiration for Ramsey”. Bayern Munich have also been linked.

Villa manager Unai Emery, though, has publicly said that he does not want to sell Ramsey in the final days of the January transfer window.

The former Arsenal boss has also. noted how good the 22-year-old is and the potential he has.

The Athletic quotes Emery as saying about Ramsey: “Jacob Ramsey is a very important player.

He grew up here in the academy. His progression is clear and getting better. I want to keep him here with us.

“Teams maybe involved in the possibility to sign him, because he has big potential with Aston Villa and England, 100 per cent.”

My View: Tottenham Hotspur will struggle to sign Jacob Ramsey now

In my opinion., Tottenham Hotspur will struggle to get a deal done for Aston Villa attacking midfielder Jacob Ramsey before the January transfer window closes this week.

Villa are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

I do not think that Unai Emery will want to lose any of the players he thinks will play his role.

Yes, Ramsey is not a regular in the starting lineup, but he is only 22. Emery clearly likes the English youngster, who can also play as a winger.

Ramsey has made four starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for Villa so far this season.

He has scored one goal in those games
