Kyrie Irving Makes An Unusual Business Move

Published

on

The Dallas Mavericks star has always been known for his way of thinking outside of the box and not doing things the usual way, for better or worse.

That was on full display again with his latest business move.

According to a report by Shams Charania of The Athletic, the talented point guard has broken an interesting barrier in the signature sneaker industry, as he just signed his father, Drederick Irving, to a signature deal.

Drederick, who was also a basketball player back in the day, will now be the first father signed by his son to a signature sneaker deal.

Irving parted ways with Nike due to the controversy while he was with the Brooklyn Nets.

He signed with the Chinese brand ANTA instead.

He has already launched the ANTA KAI 1, which is pretty similar to his Nike sneakers, and now, his father will also have his very own shoe.

This an unprecedented and quite a heartwarming move by someone who has always kept family first and foremost.

This comes on the heels of Irving making it back to the NBA Finals, this time with the Mavericks.

The Boston Celtics are the odds-on favorite to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy and win their league-best 18th championship, but Irving and Luka Doncic will bode the biggest threat they will have to face in their entire postseason run.
