Manchester United sacking Erik Ten Hag could lead to Amadou Onana transfer from Everton

Manchester United could sign Amadou Onana from Everton this summer if they sack manager Erik Ten Hag, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

Speaking during an episode of Noyau Dur (23 May), the Belgian journalist reports that the Red Devils have been interested in the Belgium international in the last two transfer windows.

But a deal has never materialised because Ten Hag and his SEG agency have been against it the whole time, opening up the chance for a move to take place should he be sacked as expected after the FA Cup final.

“What has always prevented Manchester United from attracting Amadou Onana is the enormous mafia between the agent and the agency, in this case the management which represents Erik ten Hag,” he said.

“This is the big problem today. This is what led to all the sporting and managerial choice of Manchester United. I wonder how we didn’t start with that one on the show today, what contributed to having this absolutely catastrophic season.

“It is the internal scrupulous and mafia problems which have completely spoiled the interests within the club. So today, why has a player like Amadou Onana not arrived at Manchester United, who have been interested in two transfer windows, it’s because of Erik ten Hag and his entourage. We can say it like that.

“Somewhere the choices of Amadou Onana will be oriented on which club will offer him the clearest project and where he sees that it could progress with a clear structure.

If Erik ten Hag leaves, then perhaps there is a possibility of seeing Amadou Onana at Manchester United next summer.”

Everton prepare for Amadou Onana transfer exit

The summer at Goodison Park is one that is likely to see fans on the edge of their seats throughout, because top players are going to be linked with moves away throughout.

Jarrad Branthwaite has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford too, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin is wanted by Newcastle and Jordan Pickford has been eyed by Chelsea and Arsenal.

But Onana seems like a player who could bring in a large amount of money to help with the financial issues before June 30th, while also not hurting the squad too much.

All of the previously mentioned options are key members of Sean Dyche’s squad when they’re fit and available, but Onana has often found himself on the bench for key games.

If Ten Hag’s presence was the reason for a deal not happening, then this summer could see it finally come to fruition and the Toffees could be about to bank a big chunk of change.
