New Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo is wiping the slate clean for his squad this Christmas – but has warned there will be departures in January.
The former Wolves boss liked to work with a small squad during his successful four-year spell at Molineux and believes squad numbers at the City Ground –
more than 30 senior pros – are much too high at present.
He wants to trim it down when the transfer window opens next month.

The Portuguese coach – who replaced Steve Cooper on Wednesday – insists that everyone will get the chance to impress over the next three games.
That includes the likes of club captain Joe Worrall and fellow centre-back Scott McKenna, both of whom had been frozen out by his predecessor.
And Nuno is looking ahead to a three-week period next month when his side won’t play a Premier League fixture where he will be able to fully assess his squad.
But he’s aware that he needs to find his best lineup, and make decisions on those he wants rid of, quickly.
Nuno said: “This is due to the circumstances here, when you have a large squad, and then you reduce to the options of the ones that are going to play, then you have the boys on the bench.
“Then you have a large number of players staying at home – then you have an issue. What I felt in training was that we can minimise that issue.
