Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton and Nottingham Forest watching Burnley star

Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest and Wolves are looking towards the Championship to enhance their forward lines.

The Premier League clubs had a mixed summer transfer between them, with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and Financial Fair Play (FFP) all playing their part in making it tougher for them.

Burnley were relegated from England’s top flight last season and they lost some key players in the summer, including Wilson Odobert joining Tottenham.

The Championship side now have another wide player attracting interest from the big boys in the Premier League.

Transfer interest in Luca Koleosho

HITC understands that Luca Koleosho has started the new season in fine form and is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

From five league games under Scott Parker, he has two goals, including netting the winner against Leeds United last week.

HITC can reveal that Newcastle United have joined the chase for the 20-year-old and watched him in a number of games already this term.

The chase for the American-born Italian Under-21 international already includes Wolves, who failed with a bid to land him this summer.

Gary O’Neil’s side, who are winless in five Premier League matches, sold key man Pedro Neto to Chelsea and didn’t improve their squad as much as they would have liked.

HITC can also reveal that Aston Villa, Brighton, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace have watched him in recent weeks.

Talents from the Championship

The lower leagues of English football are a hotbed for top talents and there are several success stories in the Premier League.

Ollie Watkins is thriving at Aston Villa, is a Champions League player and is also behind Harry Kane as England’s second-choice striker.

Even Kane himself was moulded in the Championship, before scoring goals for fun at Tottenham and now thriving at Bayern Munich.

You can add players like John Stones, Kyle Walker, James Maddison, Eberechi Eze and Harry Maguire, to name a few, to that list too.
