Nottingham Forest 21-year-old is now the most offside player in the Premier League

Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga is settling just nicely into life at the City Ground.

However, he’s now the most offside player in the Premier League.

The statistic isn’t wanted but after being flagged offside twice in Friday’s 2-0 defeat over Tottenham, he’s now top of the shop in the Premier League with 15 offsides.

Elanga signed for Forest from Manchester United and he cost the club £15 million.

He’s looked like a pretty steady signing in fairness but he needs to improve in this area of his game.

Elanga claims unwanted Premier League statistic

The Sweden international is top of the entire Premier League when it comes to being flagged offside.

Nicolas Jackson and Liverpool star Darwin Nunez sit in second and third respectively.

Elanga is set to become a useful player in the Forest squad and at 21-years-old, he does have some time on his side to improve in this area of his game.

The set of statistics have come to light from the Premier League’s official website. They showcase that Elanga now has the unwanted title and ultimately, it’s something for Steve Cooper to address.

Elanga stat will infuriate Forest boss Cooper

Quite simply, this isn’t good enough from Forest winger Elanga.

He’s so fast that he really doesn’t need to be offside so often and he’s going to start costing the team.

On Friday, Elanga thought he’d put Forest level against Tottenham.

However, he was once again deemed to be offside and after a lengthy VAR check, the goal was ruled out.

Elanga has pace and he’s got natural talent when it comes to playing as a winger.

However, he’s letting himself down at the moment by being offside so much.

Cooper will be livid with Elanga and the challenge for the head coach is to work on keeping him onside.

If he can do that, he will score more goals and Forest can start to climb the division once again.
