“Marinakis is creating this group, which obviously Edu is looking like he’ll head up,” Bailey told NFN.

“Similar to a less extent to the Red Bulls and the City group, Blueco Chelsea. It will be expanding so there’ll be a European team, a South American team, an Asian team adding to it, so no it won’t impact on Forest.

“They obviously believe they’ll benefit from it in the long term.”

Forest need an infrastructure to match their progress

Whether the current form shown by the Reds is going to be sustainable over the season is yet to be seen.

But Forest look like a club on the up this season and there are some real signs of progress on the pitch with young players like Elliot Anderson really impressing at Forest.

But there needs to be an infrastructure away from the pitch in place if Forest are going to make the leap up to a side pushing for Europe.

Many won’t expect Forest to maintain this form – and that would be understandable – but the Reds are showing ambition with Marinakis making recent improvements to the City Ground.

And appointing a chief like Edu would surely be another step forward for the club.
