But the Blues boss doesn’t see the boost to the club’s coffers having a significant impact on what unfolds, as the transfer window opens.
The 25-year-old is expected to be sidelined for up to 10 weeks, which arrived as a blow for John Mousinho’s squad as his season showed signs of accelerating.
That broadly would mean receiving six weeks’ compensation, if Yengi is to be out for the 10-week period anticipated.
Mousinho confirmed there would be a payment to the Blues, but didn’t see it as a factor which would make a major difference to the transfer kitty afforded to the football operation in the January window.
He said: ‘I believe so (Pompey will receive compensation). That’s the Fifa regulations and he’s covered until he’s back fit again.
‘I don’t know and it’s no big concern of mine. I don’t think we’re all of a sudden going to have £15m to spend in January!’
