Portsmouth have had a bid for Rotherham United left-back Cohen Bramall accepted by the League One outfit.
Bramall has featured 16 times for Steve Evans’ Millers this season, but has failed to register a goal contribution thus far, and has also only started five times in the third tier of English football, with the rest of his outings coming from the bench.
However, the full-back could be in for a mid-season swap to the Championship, as journalist Pete O’Rourke has revealed via X that John Mousinho’s Portsmouth have seen a bid for Bramall accepted.
This may come as a surprise for supporters of both clubs, as the 28-year-old hasn’t been a regular fixture in the Rotherham squad this season, yet is set to make the step up a division for the remainder of 2024-25.
Cohen Bramall Portsmouth-bound after Rotherham United accept transfer bid
Former Arsenal full-back Bramall joined the Millers in 2022, signing from Lincoln City after Rotherham met a release clause in his contract.
Whilst he’s featured in the majority of matches over the previous two seasons, Bramall has found minutes hard to come by this campaign.
However, his wealth of Championship experience at the New York Stadium has landed him a potential move back to the second tier. Portsmouth are in the fight of their lives to preserve their Championship status, and have identified the 28-year-old as a target.
