The Championship season is now less than a week away from returning, with the international break now in its final days. Millwall and QPR have had very different seasons so far, with the Lions pushing for a top six finish, while the Hoops are sitting at the very bottom of the table.
When they return, Millwall will host table-toppers Sunderland, while QPR welcome Stoke City to Loftus Road. In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Championship.
Millwall and QPR latest
Millwall had a few internationals in action this week, with George Saville turning out for Northern Ireland as a substitute, coming on in the 76th minute. He could feature again on Monday when Northern Ireland take on Luxembourg. Elsewhere, Mihailo Ivanović was an unused substitute for Serbia as they took on Switzerland.
Rodon injury update
Leeds United star Joe Rodon has said he is okay after a nasty clash of heads with Wales teammate Mark Harris during a goalless draw with Turkiye on Saturday night. Harris had to be withdrawn due to a swollen eye at half-time, while Rodon played on.
“To be fair, I think I am used to them in the Championship to be honest,” Rodon told Sgorio. “It’s every other week. It is what it is, a bit of a mix up but we are both okay and that’s the main thing.”
Lampard set for ‘talks’
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is set for talks with Coventry City as he looks to end his exile from management. Lampard has been a strong favourite since Mark Robins was sacked by the Sky Blues earlier this month. Robins was in charge for seven-and-a-half years.
The Daily Mail now report that Lampard is set for talks with Coventry as they take steps towards an appointment. Coventry owner Doug King said recently: “We’ve received a huge amount of CVs from high quality people, of which Frank is one. We’ve done nothing on that process. Clearly we’re in the international break. We’ll be assessing everything. We’ll work out who’s going to make the shortlist and we’ll go from there.”
