Rangers could agree 11 more summer deals – ‘from what I’ve heard’ – Keith Wyness

erdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Rangers could sign five more stars in the summer transfer window.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Aberdeen between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested up to six more Ibrox players could depart, with Philippe Clement’s side needing a different approach to their upcoming Champions League qualifiers.

Rangers have already confirmed that John Lundstram, Borna Barisic, Kemar Roofe, Ryan Jack and Jon McLaughlin have departed the club following the end of their contracts.

The Gers have completed a deal for left-back Jefte, while Mohamed Diomande has seen his loan become permanent.

Oscar Cortes has sealed a one-year loan deal with the Glasgow club, which will become permanent in 2025.

Rangers tipped for ‘four or five’ more incomings in Champions League push

Rangers finished second in the Scottish Premiership in the 2023-24 campaign and will therefore have to navigate four qualifiers to claim a place in the Champions League proper next term.

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “From what I’ve heard, there’s already lot of movement shaping up at Ibrox.

“I think we’ll see another five or six out, and maybe another four or five coming in.

“The quality that Philippe Clement goes for will be crucial.

“But more importantly, they need players who have the right mentality to start firing in August.

“It’s almost like they shouldn’t get any holiday and start training earlier. They’ve got to look at it differently.

“They’ve got to think outside the box and create a different environment.

“They have to qualify through these playoff games and think about what they can do to get this squad firing.”
