Rangers duo Tavernier and Goldson’s £20m transfer claim emerges

Gordon Dalziel has issued an exit verdict on Rangers duo James Tavernier and Connor Goldson amid Saudi Arabia links.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, the former Gers and Manchester City striker believes that they will not be getting £10million each for the two players.

What could tempt the players to move is the wages they will be offered in Saudi Arabia.

Dalziel said at 12:17, “If you value Tavernier and Goldson at £10million each I’ll be the one letting them out of the building. That’s not going to happen.

I know Saudi, the money over there is crazy money.

Where the money will be for the players will be the wages, the difference in wages. I think Rangers will get a few quid.”

Rangers may have different ideas for James Tavernier and Connor Goldson

In Goldson’s case, given that he has been at Ibrox for several years and is not getting any younger,

there might be an argument for the club to consider selling him.

The potential financial gain from his sale, coupled with his age and the possibility of his performance declining in the future, could make it a prudent decision for the club.

Moreover, if Rangers were to receive a reasonable offer for Goldson,

it could provide them with funds to invest in younger talents or to strengthen other areas of the squad.

As for Tavernier, being the captain of the team adds a layer of complexity to the situation.

His departure would not only affect the team’s performance on the pitch but could also have an impact on the squad’s morale and leadership.

However, if the financial benefits of a move to Saudi Arabia are significant enough,

it could still be an attractive proposition for him.

Additionally, considering his age and the potential for a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia,

Gers might find it challenging but not impossible to part ways with their captain.
