Rangers stance on Wolves striker Silva emerges with exits planned

Several first-team Rangers players including Fabio Silva are likely to be on their way out in the summer, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper reported on its website on 25 April that Nils Koppen has a task on his hand this summer, giving Philippe Clement what he wants for the rebuild.

Gers were favourites for the title a few weeks ago but will now need Celtic to drop points if they are to win the league.

The report reads: “The Belgian manager will work closely with recruitment chief Nils Koppen ahead of summer to identify players who could improve the side, with several first team players expected to be on their way out.

“Wolves loanee Fabio Silva will likely return to his parent club and the Gers don’t have an option to make Abdallah Sima’s move from Brighton permanent.”

Fabio Silva has not justified his spot since Rangers move

Silva’s performance since moving to Ibrox on loan has been underwhelming.

Despite showing promise initially, he has struggled to adapt to Scottish football and has not been a significant goal threat for the team.

This lack of impact on the field may have made Rangers reconsider investing in him permanently.

Money could also play a significant role in this decision as given the club’s financial constraints, they may not be in a position to make a big-money move, especially if Silva’s loan spell does not justify a high transfer fee.

Moreover, Silva’s performance history at his previous clubs may also be a concern.

Despite his potential, he has struggled to maintain consistent form and has not lived up to the expectations set by his initial transfer fee at Wolves.

This track record could make Gers hesitant to commit to a permanent deal,

preferring to explore other options that may offer better value for money and a more immediate impact on the team’s performance.
