Registered interest’… Mark Guidi says clubs have contacted Celtic about signing 23-year-old player in January

With January almost upon us, it is absolutely certain that Celtic are going to do transfer business on both incomings and outgoings.

For the outgoings, Brendan Rodgers has already stated that he wants to trim the squad.

With a number of players on the wage bill not contributing to the first team, Celtic have a lot of work to do to get them out the door.

But it might not be too difficult to get one player a move after Mark Guidi‘s latest revelation.

The journalist was speaking about Celtic defender, Gustaf Lagerbielke, who has been the subject of much transfer speculation recently.

Guidi said [The Go Radio Football Show], “I said a few weeks ago that Lagerbielke will be on his way.

I don’t think there’s a feeling that he’s going to get there in time at Celtic.

“I don’t know exactly what the situation was with Nawrocki but certainly with Lagerbielke, I think he’ll be sold next month.

“And I think there’s already been registered interest in him from other clubs. So whether it’s a loan deal or a view to buy, sometimes these things just don’t work out.”

The recently voted Swedish Defender of the Year has fallen out of favour at Celtic and his situation has left many people baffled.

After securing a £3m summer move, Lagerbielke seems to be deemed not good enough after less than six months at Celtic and that has raised questions on Brendan Rodgers’ role in Celtic’s summer transfer business.

However, whatever happens with Lagerbielke I hope his situation is sorted sooner rather than later.

At just 23, he still has time to develop a career elsewhere because as it stands at the moment, it doesn’t look like it will be at Celtic.
