Nottingham Forest have been notoriously busy during recent transfer windows but things might be somewhat different this time.
A report has emerged from The Athletic that makes an interesting claim.
With January upon us, we’ve looked at what one media outlet is now saying about the transfer window from a Forest perspective…
Report explains how many players Forest want to sign
The Reds signed 13 new players in the summer and since winning promotion to the Premier League they’ve added 43 new recruits.
As a result, it will come as no surprise to anyone that Nuno Espirito Santo wants to work with a smaller squad at Forest.

A report by The Athletic claims that Forest will only look to sign between one and three players during the January transfer window.
The linked players have included strikers and central defenders, with Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa also linked with Forest.
Major emphasis will be placed on Forest getting players out of the door this month, with some big names potentially set for an exit.
Joe Worrall has been linked with a move to Leicester, whilst Andrey Santos has already gone back to Chelsea are being recalled from his loan.
Time for Forest to prioritise quality over quantity
It’s very refreshing to hear that Espirito Santo is keen to work with a much smaller squad at the City Ground.
With that in mind, it will be interesting to see who Forest can offload during the January transfer window.

Some new signings will be sought but Espirito Santo must get the players that he wants and not ones that are forced upon him.
Forest have been somewhat careless in the transfer market in recent times, with far too many signings making little to no impact.
With that in mind, the club have to learn their lessons and the report that claims no more than three will be added this month is refreshing
