Footage of Jack Butland making a save for Rangers in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Standard Liege has now emerged.

Belgian journalist Jonas Bernard has shared a clip via X (10 July) of the Englishman making a top save to deny Ibe Hautekiet’s header from a corner on 61 minutes.

The friendly ended goalless with the 31-year-old earning a well-deserved clean sheet after his stunning stop earlier in the clash.

Jack Butland Rangers form continues in preseason

The Gers number one was in superb form last season which saw him be immovable in Philippe Clement’s squad throughout the campaign.

Butland made plenty of world-class saves and will have been frustrated to have not won the Scottish Premiership or Scottish Cup.

In the league alone he kept 18 clean sheets which was three more than Zander Clark for Hearts and for more than Joe Hart with Celtic [FotMob].

It appears that the Englishman is going to keep up that form moving into his second season at Ibrox based on this preseason footage.

A bullet header came towards him from the corner and Butland was able to get down low to push the ball away with relative ease.

With Clement looking to refresh and rebuild his squad this summer, there is no doubt that the 31-year-old will keep his role as a regular starter.

This has even forced out Robby McCrorie who looks set to confirm a move to Kilmarnock in the coming days.

The save in the friendly against Standard Liege is typical of what the Rangers number one and supporters will be hopeful his form will continue.
