Shea Charles has made quite the impact since joining Sheffield Wednesday on loan this season, so much so, that Southampton might want him back already.
Sheffield Wednesday were in desperate need of some quality in the middle of the park, and in Shea Charles, they certainly found just that.
The 21-year-old has been, far and away, the best Sheffield Wednesday signing this season, but his impressive displays have caught the eye a little bit too much if anything.
With his parent club struggling in the Premier League, there has been talk of Shea Charles being recalled in January, which would leave the Owls needing to replace him.
Tyrese Hall fits the bill perfectly
It’s going to be hard for Sheffield Wednesday to keep hold of Shea Charles, but Tottenham Hotspur have a player who can slot in and replace him almost seamlessly in Tyrese Hall.
The 19-year-old operates as a deep, defensive-minded midfielder, but also has the ability to drive forward and make things happen in more attacking areas when he’s given the opportunity.
He’s been in and around Ange Postecoglou’s first-team squad at Tottenham over the last 12 months, but is in desperate need of regular minutes at a senior level if he is to progress, and Spurs will almost certainly be open to offers for him in the New Year.
Liverpool’s Trey Nyoni is a top talent
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has already spoken on the ‘talent’ Trey Nyoni possesses, but at 17-years-old, there is very little chance the youngster will be able to make any meaningful breakthrough at Anfield right now.
Slot made it clear that Nyoni “needs playing time to develop” and as such, it would not be a surprise to see the player head out on loan in January.
He’s slightly more attack-minded than Charles, granted, but Nyoni has the physical and technical abilities to play deeper and protect the defence, while also being capable of dictating the game from that pivot role in midfield.

West Ham have the next Declan Rice ready to go
It’s an easy comparison to make when you have a young central midfielder emerging from the academy at West Ham, but the similarities between Lewis Orford and Declan Rice are uncanny at times.
Orford is a calm and composed midfielder who does the simple things really, really well, and loves to progress the ball up the pitch either through his passes or his own desire to carry the ball himself.
At just 18 years of age, Orford is already displaying an impressive level of intelligence, discipline, and maturity, and he would absolutely flourish if given the chance to play regularly in the Championship.
