Todd Cantwell Rangers injury return nears as star tells fans ‘back soon’

Todd Cantwell is ready to hand Rangers a timely boost as he nears a return from injury.

The attacking midfielder has missed the last three games for the Light Blues after limping off during last month’s 3-0 win at St Johnstone.

Cantwell, 26, was spotted putting ice on his hamstring as he watched on from the McDiarmid Park dugout, with Philippe Clement unhappy at the treatment dished out to his key man.

The midfield maverick was badly missed at the weekend as Gers crashed to a shock 2-1 home defeat to Motherwell.

But the fans’ favourite has hinted he’s on the verge of making his comeback as he issued a cryptic post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Sharing a reel of his Rangers highlights, Cantwell used two emojis which read: “Back soon.”

While Cantwell would loved to be involved in Thursday night’s Europa League trip to Benfica, it’s unlikely the ex-Norwich City playmaker will be rushed back as we edge closer to the business end of the season.

Ibrox boss Clement will issue an update on Cantwell’s fitness when he speaks to the press from Lisbon tomorrow, but supporters hope to see the player back sooner rather than later.

One wrote: “Miss u big guy come back soon.” Another posted: “Missed big time. Some talent. What a boost if we get Todd back.”

While a third person added: “Hopefully back for Dundee away, by far the biggest game of the season!”
