A heavyweight who is Tyson Fury’s first cousin was knocked out after setting a career-high weight the day before.

Nathan Gorman weighed approximately twenty pounds more than his previous heaviest after a year away from the ring.

Gorman lost a close decision to Ukraine’s Bohdan Myronets despite having to gaffa tape his shorts due to his enormous belly rolls causing complications.

Nathan Gorman’s heavyweight conundrum

Gorman, who weighed 296.3 pounds and was eighty pounds larger than Myronets, labored the entire time.

After eight rounds, Myronets, who defeated Kash Ali in July, was awarded a 77-76 victory.

Despite being predicted for tremendous things earlier in his career, Gorman is now a journeyman. Gorman made his pro debut at 252 pounds and looked like a force.

Something has gone wrong since then, and there appears to be no turning back.

Newcastle’s ten-time national amateur champion stopped Fabrizio Rubino late in the second round to make his paid debut.

“I am my own worst critic and always feel like I can box better,” he told Channel 5 afterward. It was still a good performance, and I came in first place.

“I’ll be back out in Sunderland on the Josh Kelly undercard on December 16th.” In the future, I plan to bring major nights

to the North East.”
