Wayne Rooney reckons Arsenal has taken a leaf out of his book when it comes to set pieces by claiming the Gunners emulated one of his corner routines when he was in charge of Derby.
The Gunners have amassed a reputation for being excellent at dead-ball situations, having scored 23 goals from them, with 16 of them coming from corners alone since the beginning of last season.
And Rooney feels there is one move that Arsenal did in their 2-2 draw against Manchester City that he used at the Rams. Gabriel Magalhaes scored with a header when a group of Arsenal players started beyond the back post, flooded the six-yard box and that allowed the centre-back to nod into the back of the net.
It was reminiscent of a goal that Derby scored in a 2-1 win against Middlesbrough in 2021 when Rooney was in charge as Lee Gregory headed in after four of the five players ran at different angles causing havoc in the Boro backline.
