Sheffield Wednesday supporters made their views on owner Dejphon Chansiri clear at yesterday’s Yorkshire derby against Leeds United.
Protests by the 1867 Group, which wants Chansiri to sell the club, received coverage on ITV and Sky Sports.
Earlier in the week Chansiri’s appearance at a supporters’ forum caused concerns as he said he hadn’t spoken to manager Danny Rohl since December.
The five hour long event saw 250 Owls fans debate a range of issues with Chansiri, including the
popular Rohl’s future, player transfers, ticket prices and the future ownership of the club.
It caused a big stir locally and that sense of unrest spilled onto the nation’s TV screens yesterday with Owls legend Chris Waddle backing the protests too.
Waddle said he thought about 80% of supporters wanted Chansiri out and called on the owner to think about whether he had taken the club as far as it could go under his reign.

The Football Supporters’ Association has been working
with Sheffield Wednesday fan organisations to help give supporters the best voice and engagement with their club.
Earlier this week the 1867 Group said the club viewed them as “militant due to our past involvement [with protests]”
but encouraged supporters to unify under an umbrella organisation as “it has become clear that change is urgently needed”.
